Sewing with Fruit

A few weeks ago, I was cleaning out my bedroom closet and came across a square pillow form that I had bought many years ago (about 20?) and never used. As I dug more into the closet, I found some fat quarters (squares of material that quilters use) that I had gotten for free about 10 years ago and never used. A quilting shop in town had published a coupon that if you brought it in you could choose four fat quarters for free. I remember looking at all the fabrics in the store and just couldn't decide so I ended up choosing these fruit patterns.

Fast forward these many years and when I found the form and the material, I decided right then that I would cover the pillow form with some of that material. Then I put it aside because we went out of town for a couple of weeks.

Today, I got the fabric and pillow form out and made a pi
llow. I only had one pillow form to cover and thought that maybe I'd buy another form at Joann's. But then I remembered a throw pillow in another closet that Nancy had given me about 10 years ago because she didn't want it any more. It would make a fine pillow form to cover.

Each pillow has two different looks--each side has a different fruit pattern--pears or apples and the other pillow has watermelon or pineapples.
