A few weeks ago, I was cleaning out my bedroom closet and came across a square pillow form that I had bought many years ago (about 20?) and never used. As I dug more into the closet, I found some fat quarters (squares of material that quilters use) that I had gotten for free about 10 years ago and never used. A quilting shop in town had published a coupon that if you brought it in you could choose four fat quarters for free. I remember looking at all the fabrics in the store and just couldn't decide so I ended up choosing these fruit patterns.
Fast forward these many years and when I found the form and the material, I decided right then that I would cover the pillow form with some of that material. Then I put it aside because we went out of town for a couple of weeks.
Today, I got the fabric and pillow form out and made a pillow. I only had one pillow form to cover and thought that maybe I'd buy another form at Joann's. But then I remembered a throw pillow in another closet that Nancy had given me about 10 years ago because she didn't want it any more. It would make a fine pillow form to cover.
Each pillow has two different looks--each side has a different fruit pattern--pears or apples and the other pillow has watermelon or pineapples.
What a cute blog, and I like the cute pillows! I will show the kids in the morning
ReplyDeletehey that's my pillow from college
ReplyDeleteSuzi, you made beautiful pillows. I love them. This is cute about what Nancy said--I think she has staked a claim on "her" pillow. You create beautiful things, and I'm glad you had the time to do these lastest creations. Even better that it was all stuff you found in your closet.
