The Help

Tonight, Richard and I saw the movie, The Help. We had "read" the book by listening to the audio version as we drove to and from Orlando earlier this year. It is a good book. The story line was familiar to me since I grew up in the South during the 50's and 60's, where & when this story takes place.

Before the movie began, there were twenty minutes of previews. Twenty minutes! We could have left our house when the movie was scheduled to begin and still made it to our seats when it did begin. It only took us 12 mins from our house to our theater seats.

The movie was good even though I didn't care for the language that was used here and there. It was emotionally moving at the end. At the end of the movie, some people in the audience clapped. The movie was filmed in Mississippi, some of it in Greenwood, my brother-in-law's hometown.

  2. I don't think you have to read the book first to enjoy the movie.

  3. I thought they did a good job making the book into a movie.
